Skater Meeting Sept 19
Skater Meeting
Saturday Sept 19, 7:30am
ATTENTION FREESTYLE SKATERS!!
We will be holding a brief freestyle etiquette meeting this Saturday for all skaters who skate on our freestyle sessions. The majority of our skaters do skate on Saturdays and 7:30am is a scheduled ice cut. We will be meeting in the lobby for about 10 mins. We encourage parents of our younger skaters to attend.
If you are unable to attend:
Please make sure you connect with Moe to review the material you are missing. Here is a reminder of items we will be discussing.
Be aware of your surroundings at all times. It is each skater's responsibility to be aware of themselves and their movement patterns on the ice. Parents may not manage this for their skater as you are not on the ice in the moment.
Green/Pink/Yellow Pinney Vests are worn by skaters training their program at that moment. These skaters have the right of way! Please move away from these skaters while they are skating. Skating toward these skaters puts you directly in their way.
If you are skating your program with a vest on please understand that you may need to adjust your pattern slightly to move around skaters to complete your elements. You may also loudly call out PROGRAM to skaters in your path. It is more effective if you politely add the skater's name MOE, PROGRAM!! Now I know you specifically need me to move;-)
Move to the side of the ice if you need to speak with another skater, take a moment to rest or anything else that doesn't have you moving effectively on the ice.
If you haven't paid for the session there probably isn't space left for you out there. Do not sneak on!!
We will go over a few more items and more details to the above on Saturday. Thanks so much!!
