Freestyle & Aspire Skaters:

~Please feel free to wear your costume both days during freestyle. We ask that your costumes do not interfere with your ability to train.

Welcome New Learn to Skate Families

We have just begin a new set of LTS group lessons. Welcome to all of our new families. We are excited to welcome you into the Lake City Learn to Skate family and eventually many of you will become Spokane FSC members.

There are so many exciting events happening during this set of lessons. First is our Halloween Costume parties tomorrow and Saturday Oct 31. We hope that you all enjoy the fun. Costumes are not required, but everyone will have the opportunity to do a trick for a treat during the end of their lesson.

During this set of lessons we will be preparing for our annual Holiday Ice Show. All of our skaters will be participating in this performance. LTS skaters will learn their performance during the last 10 mins of every lesson beginning week 3. Stay tuned for costume information, ticket sales and more. THe show will be on Dec 20th.

Reminder of Freestyle Policy

We would like to introduce Abbie Henningsgaard (Felicity, Vivienne and Theodore's mom) as our new Ice Monitor!! Abbie has stepped up to the long needed challenge of consistently tracking every skater who steps on the ice. Now that this position will have regular coverage we are going to change up the process, just to keep you all on your toes.

Here is the new process!!

  1. Purchase the sessions you intend to skate on through Entryeeze. Please note that we will be onboarding a new system for ice time purchases sometime in Nov/Dec.

  2. When you arrive at the rink Abbie will have a table set up in the lobby. EVERY skater will need to check in at that table. Skaters may check in for all of the sessions they have pre-purchased to skate on that day. Checking in at the table will allow us to track which skaters have paid with far more efficiency. This saves the club money to reinvest into our program.

  3. Skaters may enter the ice to practice at the start of the session you purchased. Please do not enter the ice early.

PLEASE DO NOT SKIP DOWN THE STEPS AND BYPASS CHECK IN

Answers to Anticipated Questions:

  • What if the sessions I want to skate are sold out?If the session is sold out please respect that it is sold out. You are welcome to come to the rink and see if someone does not show up. A waiting list will be generated by the Ice Monitor on a first come first serve basis. If a session is full we will begin to release unchecked in spots 10 minutes into a freestyle. Waitlisted skaters who do make it onto the session will have the session fee placed into your Entryeeze account. Currently, we will not be adding skaters to the waitlist unless they are there in person.

  • May I pay for a full session and then spread that time out over 2 sessions? While we wish we could accommodate everyone's busy schedule, unfortunately that becomes a very difficult pattern to track. Additionally, during our high traffic sessions it oversells the second session you are shouldering making it less effective for all skaters.

  • What happens if my skater has a lesson but the session is sold out?We have a few different ways for you to handle this. 1. We will continue to offer the $5 lesson only option so check to see if there are open spots. 2. Let your coach know right away if you can't get on the session. This gives them time to consider their schedule and how to handle the missed lesson. 3. Feel free to come to the rink and join the waitlist. We are currently averaging 2+ skaters who no show every session. Please review the waitlist procedure, lesson skaters on the waitlist do NOT have priority.

  • What happens if I purchase a session, but cannot skate on it?Please take your skater off the session!! We consistently have multiple skaters who no show on every session. This prohibits other skaters from being able to purchase time they would like to use. Now that we have an established Ice Monitor we will be tracking skaters who consistently no show. After 5 No Shows we will charge you $10.How do I remove my skater from a session? If you are a punchcard or unlimited pass holder you can go into your EE account and remove your skater from the session. If you purchased the session a la carte then please email or text Moe. 24 hours before the session begins, and I will remove you with a full refund. After 24 hours I will remove your skater from the session to open the spot without a refund.

  • What happens if I purchased a session but I am running late and we will miss the 10 min window before the waitlist skaters begin taking spots.Life happens, traffic happens, schedules go haywire. Right now you can text Moe (603.667.7178) to let me know and we will hold onto your spot. This should only be used in an emergency situation. If this becomes a consistent issue individually we stop honoring it for you. If this becomes the habit of every skater we will eliminate this policy immediatley.

  • Why is the club buckling down now?We are so fortunate to have so many skaters and coaches who have chosen Spokane FSC and Lake City LTS to reach their skating goals. We currently offer 12 training sessions each week and we typical sell out 4-6 sessions each week. Unfortunately, we still have skaters who do not respect the requirement of paying for every session skated, some who ignore that sold out means it is sold out and get on anyway, and multiple skaters who are unable to skate because a session is sold out but 2-3 skaters no show. In order to meet the needs of our members, protect our skaters and maintain effective training sessions we needed to make a change and hold everyone equally accountable. We recognize that this is new and it will take time for everyone to adjust, this includes us. If everyone does their best and leads with grace we will fine tune along the way!!

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING!!
